The More
There is so much more to having a relationship with God than the average person will ever get from Him. We must pursue Him with all of our heart to experience more of Him.

The More
by Melissa Crowe
Are you hungry for the more? There’s so much you can have in your relationship with God. No matter where you are or how close you are to Him, there’s always more.
Sadly, most people go as far as accepting Jesus into their hearts, going to church on Sunday, praying before they eat—and that’s about it. But there’s so much more to having a relationship with God.
Jeremiah 29:13 says, “You will seek Me and find Me when you seek Me with all your heart.” And James 4:8 says, “Draw near to God, and He will draw near to you.”
God wants to be pursued. He sends His Spirit and tries to woo us, speaking in a still, small voice. If we listen and obey that voice, He will show up strong. But ultimately, He leaves it up to us to pursue Him. And in my experience, I think He sometimes plays “hard to get”!
Let me explain. When we’ve been spending a lot of time with the Lord, we instantly feel His presence—it comes easily. But when we get busy and let life’s obligations, people, and extra activities steal our time from Him, His presence becomes harder to sense and feel. When we suddenly try to work on the relationship again, He can feel very far away.
He’s not a yo-yo that we toss away then pull toward us again, only to be tossed away again. He’s a very real being—our Creator, our Heavenly Father, our friend, confidant, comforter, helper, and so much more. He created us in His likeness and image, so He feels just like we do.
We feel slighted when others don’t give us the time of day, and when they suddenly remember us, we can make it hard for them to get back “in” with us. I think God sometimes does the same thing with us.
He waits for us every day to meet with Him, to acknowledge Him, and to worship Him. He longs to have fellowship with us. He wants us to hunger and thirst for Him. David understood this when he wrote in Psalm 63:1, “O God, You are my God; early will I seek You; my soul thirsts for You...”
God said in Jeremiah 33:3, “Call to Me, and I will answer you, and show you great and mighty things...” When we spend time with God, He will show us things about our lives that no one else could know. He will give us wisdom and answers to our problems that we can’t get anywhere else. He will give us comfort, peace, love, and joy—and so much more.
Even if you spend time with Him daily, there is always more. His depth is like a well with no bottom. When you continuously seek Him, it can become beautifully addictive. It’s like craving something sweet and savory, that leaves you longing for even more.
Spend some quality time with the Lord. Put on some worship music, get alone with Him, and seek Him with your whole heart. Go after The More.
