Filled With His Fullness

Find out why we can't stay on the mountain and why the enemy fights us so hard.

Ephesians 3:12–13, 16–20 (NKJV)
“In whom we have boldness and access with confidence through faith in Him…
that He would grant you… to be strengthened with might through His Spirit in the inner man…
that you, being rooted and grounded in love, may be able to comprehend…
to know the love of Christ which passes knowledge; that you may be filled with all the fullness of God…
Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us.”

Our FAITH is what gives us the boldness and access to the Father. It is our full belief and trust in Him that we can ask for the miracles we need in our lives. He will strengthen us through His Spirit on the inside. This strength is what gives us the perseverance to fight the good fight of faith. The father wants us to be rooted and grounded in His love and have a complete understanding of the love of His Son, which is so deep, we will never fully grasp the extent of it.

Only when we spend time with him and allow ourselves to surrender and go deeper with him can we start to comprehend this love. While it does strengthen us, it seems like as soon as we get back to work and start interacting with other people, we slowly forget what that love felt like, and we start to lose our strength. The enemy comes and lies to us, zapping any ounce of it we previously had. I’ve had it happen to me almost immediately after spending a glorious time with the Lord.

I remember being at a church revival where God was moving mightily. His presence was very strong, and people were being delivered at the altar. As soon as the service was over, someone came up to me, angry about something that had happened earlier that week. It was a situation where there was a complete misunderstanding. It caused a huge disruption, and the Pastor had to get involved. I was stunned at the outburst and how fast the enemy swooped in and tried to sabotage everything the Lord just did.

That’s how fast things can change. This is exactly why it seems we can never get past things and go to another level in God. All it takes is one misunderstanding. One thought spoken out loud and one lie believed, and the enemy gains access into the playground of our minds. If we could just stay in His presence and never go anywhere to be around people, it would be easy to live on a higher plane with Him.

I asked a Pastor friend one time why we can’t just stay up on the Mountain where the glory dwells? He said that the people need us in the Valley, where God can use us.

The Mountain is the filling station. It’s where our Spirit connects with God's, and He fills us up with His love and His presence. It’s where we get our Armor. But the real work is done in the Valley. The Valley is where the battle is. It’s where love is needed, and where we need to spread it.

The problem we face is that most people in the valley are not filled up. They don’t know God’s love. They are operating from a ‘fleshly’ place. We can’t let ourselves be deceived and tricked by their way of thinking. Just because someone is confident and arrogant doesn’t make them ‘right’. They might even be professionals and very knowledgeable, but not know the love of God.

This is why the enemy fights us so hard. He doesn’t want us to grow in God’s love, so he distracts us and lures us with worldly things, so we get weak and eventually become ineffective for the kingdom. He doesn’t want the people in the valley to know of God’s love. And if Satan can get the Saints to turn on each other (husbands/wives, parents/children, friends, church leaders/parishioners, etc.), then even better for him because it will stop God’s plan and purpose from working in our lives.

God wants us to understand the width, length, depth, and height of Christ’s love—a love that “passes knowledge,” meaning you cannot reason your way into it. It must be experienced.

His width embraces every part of your life.

His length carries you from beginning to end.

His depth reaches your lowest, most hidden places.

His height lifts you into purpose and destiny.

God’s desire is not for you to walk half-full or spiritually exhausted.

He wants you overflowing—with joy, purpose, peace, identity, and power.

We are made complete in His love.

This is the very heartbeat of the Grow With Purpose course—to help you experience His love, be strengthened by His Spirit, and walk confidently in His God-given destiny for your life.

Every day when we rise in the morning, we need to ‘suit up’ (as the ‘Avengers’ say). Let God strengthen your inner man. God always starts inside. Before He expands your influence, He strengthens your core.

“Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think…”

Whatever you can imagine, God can exceed it.

Not because of your strength, but because His power is working within you.

His power isn’t distant.

It’s not “out there.”

It is in you.

I recently read the following scripture in Daniel 12:3, and it really resonated with me:

“Those who are wise shall shine like the brightness of the sky above; and those who turn many to righteousness like the stars forever and ever.

This is God’s vision for you:

To shine.

To walk boldly in His love.

To bring others into righteousness.

To reflect His glory on the earth.

To live with eternal impact.

You were created to shine—and you are strengthened, rooted, loved, filled, and empowered to do exactly that.
